Winner lined up for pipeline FEED deal

A long-running contest to secure a sought-after front-end engineering and design contract for the East Med pipeline is almost at an end. Upstream understands an award is imminent, with a pairing of Australia-based Worley and Greece's C&M Engineering in pole position to land the prestigious contract. One source familiar with the tender process said rival bidders "have been informed" of IGI's decision to go with Worley, although the contest was "a close run thing". Three groups last October submitted bids for the 31-month FEED contract, with suggestions an award could come by the end of 2019. However, for reasons that are unclear, the decision was delayed although confidence has increased that an award could emerge shortly.
