Bids in for Ichthys gas compression module

RIVAL oil and gas fabricators in Asia Pacific have submitted bids to construct a 4000-tonne gas compression module for the Inpex-led Ichthys liquefied natural gas project in Australia. The compression module is to be installed on the giant Ichthys semi-submersible central processing platform - called Ichthys Explorer - and it is understood that Japan's Inpex believes compression will enable throughput from its 42-inch, 900-kilometre subsea gas export pipeline to expand by up to 50%.
