Triangle Energy in push to target new prospects in boost for Cliff Head renewal

PERTH basin oil producer Triangle Energy has identified a number of key opportunities at its planned Cliff Head renewal project in Western Australia. Triangle revealed the Mentelle Updip prospect has the potential to "materially impact" the life-cycle of its shallow-water Cliff Head asset, while the West High and SE Nose prospects could also provide a significant uplift to production. Mentelle Updip is estimated to hold nearly 5.2 million barrels of oil in prospective contingent resources and Triangle places the chance of discovery at the prospect at 38%, with a 34% chance of a commercial discovery. West High is a probable extension of the Cliff Head oilfield to a western culmination, which Triangle said could be drilled by a deviated appraisal well from the Cliff Head platform and, if successful, completed as a production well.
