Modec makes move on Carcara-2 floater work

JAPAN'S Modec has selected yard Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) to carry out engineering work on a second big floating production, storage and offloading vessel destined for Equinor's Carcara pre-salt development off Brazil. DSIC recently started early front-end engineering and design studies on the Carcara-2 FPSO, even though Modec has yet to sign any binding agreement with Equinor over the first floater project, Carcara-1, sources said.
