EQUINOR is looking to accelerate development plans for the Pao de Acucar discovery off Brazil, multiple sources told Upstream, writes Fabio Palmigiani. The Norwegian player is said to be keen on placing the gas-rich field on stream in the second half of the decade, probably moving the project ahead of Carcara-2, which is likely to start up production between 2026 and 2028. "I think an invitation to tender for the Pao de Acucar floating production, storage and offloading unit may come in 2022," said a manager with one of the big floater companies.
