EXXONMOBIL, Rosneft and their partners in the $9 billion Sakhalin 1 liquefied natural gas project in Russia's far east are keen to progress the development, with the final investment decision now expected in 2021. Contractors including UK-based TechnipFMC and McDermott and Bechtel of the US are understood to be vying for the front-end engineering and design contract that could be awarded as early as this quarter.
