Status. Research work continuing. The DARDS was a technology demonstrator; tests involving the new SYRANO vehicle commenced in 1999. No production program has been launched. The BOA demonstrator program has been initiated and could provide a variety of unmanned air and ground vehicles to the French armed forces. Total Produced. No full-scale production vehicles have been fabricated. France has not announced any military requirement for an unmanned ground vehicle. Application. A UGV could be used for a variety of missions, including reconnaissance and surveillance, as well as for weapon system designation and targeting. Price Range.
