Extraction spectrophotometric determination of silver in the presence of thiocyanate ions by means of basic polymethine dye

The influence of organo-aqueous mixture composition on the ion pair extraction of silver with thiocyanate ions and basic polymethyne dyes astrafloksine FF. Optimal conditions for the complex formation and extraction have been found. The composition and main spectrophotometric characteristics of the coloured silver associates have been estimated. The molar absorptivities are as high as (4.8-10.0).10~4. A highly sensitive and selective procedure for the determination of silver has been developed.
