Britain's last remaining high-volume truck assembly plant has a new boss from this month. He is Jim Sumner, formerly operations director at Leyland Trucks, the Paccar group subsidiary that assembles Daf trucks in Leyland, Lancashire. Mr Sumner's job title was changed recently to assistant managing director in readiness for his promotion this month to managing director, succeeding Stuart Heys, who is to retire in January.
