Will XML Restore Investor Confidence?

Investors have likely found some solace in the slow but steady improvements in the financial markets this year. I'm no longer hearing 401Ks jokingly referred to as '201KS.' The economic reasons for this rebound are far beyond my understanding, but I would guess that investors have gained at least some confidence from regulatory changes such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. New laws and initiatives from NASD and the markets themselves are designed to increase the transparency and accountability in the financial reporting process, allowing investors to feel that more and better data is available to truly understand how businesses are performing.
