摘要

Hydrogen explosion destroyed the Japan's FUKUSIMA nuclear plants due to the core damage which was caused by failure of the cooling system. This incident makes more people concerned that prevention of such sever accident is critical to ensure the safety of nuclear power plant. Chemical reaction between the hot vapor and the zirconium cladding would generate huge amount of hydrogen. After releasing hydrogen from core to compartments in the containment building, hydrogen will transport into upper portion by diffusion. It is vital to investigate the movement in containment and diffusion phenomena of hydrogen since it will accumulate in some specific locations.
