摘要

The goal of this paper was to develop an interfacial conductance model and use it in conjunction with a numerical model to assess the thermal and structural safety limits of the LEU foil based annular target for Mo-99 production. The commercial finite element code Abaqus FEA was used for this purpose. The melting point and the yield strength of the cladding were used as the thermal and structural safety basis limits respectively. The results from the analysis indicate that under the current assumptions, the annular target design is thermally and structurally safe. Including the assembly residual stresses is the next component to be considered.
