Christian Gerondeau and some commonly-held but mistaken ideas in transport

Dr John Walker, of Thales Services Division, revisits 'Transport in Europe', a book published in 1997 by Christian Gerondeau, a key player in transport planning in France from the early sixties through to the current time. He finds there much that is relevant today and suggests that if we want a successful transport policy, integrated or otherwise, we have to start from facts and not from mistaken opinions.
