UK government consults industry on transport devolution

The Government's consultation on devolving responsibility for major local transport schemes ended this week as key local government transport bodies raised concerns about the future of larger projects. The Local Government Association (LGA), Passenger Transport Executive Group (PTEG) and Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transportation (ADEPT) all welcomed the proposals but conceded organising 'larger' projects could be a problem.
