摘要

NET2 is the second phase of the Nottingham Tram system that already runs from the mainline railway station through the city centre and to the north of the city. NET2 will continue south from the railway station south and split into 2 routes, one to Clifton and one to Chilwell. The two routes will pass through almost 40 sets of traffic signals and the tram will require to be given absolute priority whenever possible. Much thought was given to the operation of the traffic signals to be able to achieve absolute priority, drawing on the experience and operation of other tram systems, but also developing new ideas and techniques unique to NET2. The presentation will look at the process from preliminary design and junction modelling through to detailed design and construction. The project includes many complex signal junctions using various methods of control such as SCOOT and MOVA as well as VA.
