ITS has never had it so good -hardly a day goes by without a news story about some aspect of intelligent transport or mobility. If it's not truck platooning, it's something to do with autonomous transport, and even smart motorways gets the occasional look in. We in the ITS community are no longer associated just with enforcement cameras or traffic signals - those things that we know serve a useful purpose but that our friends and family may see as something that spoils their driving experience. No longer do we need to mutter under our breath what we do at work because now everyone has a view on Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, and it is exciting.
