The inexorable move to autonomous driving technology will bring change good and bad. Driverless vehicles should reduce accidents but they also look to bring a sharp drop in professional drivers, and that could mean fewer solid, middle-class jobs. A March report from the Center for Global Policy Solutions found that this new tech will slash as many as four million driving jobs, especially those of the long-haul trucker.
