摘要

Customer requirements for extended endurance limit forces the cylinder head design to aim at refinement of coolant flow and improvement in structural fatigue strength. Application of numerical analysis methods to cylinder head development reduces the development cycle time. In this paper, coolant flow, heat transfer and stress analysis of cylinder head are modified and linked one another. As a result, coolant flow field, distributions of temperature and strain are able to be precisely predicted. By means of these methods, we have achieved much longer life design and significant reduction in time.
