摘要

All landscapes have a native biodiversity pool, which is a result of local climate and human influences. This pool of biodiversity is often fragmented and segregated within different ecosystems. One such ecosystem, which is considerably rich in biodiversity, especially in India, is the urban ecosystem. Avifauna in urban areas is richer than any other vertebrate taxa and yet, they remain a poorly studied group of organisms.
