Metallic threads come to mind when you want to add shimmer to a design. There's certainly a plethora of shiny threads to choose from, but try combining simple hand-beading techniques with machine embroidery to achieve an array of effects that are not possible with metallic threads alone. Add a hint of Stardust to the edges of embroidery designs stitched in rayon thread, or give metallic motifs texture with a sprinkle of crystals.
