The shortcomings of 150-200-MW steam-turbine units of coal-fired power stations are considered. The possibilities for improving the characteristics of these units when using them to replace obsolete power Equipment are analyzed. The main decisions in he design and arrangement of the equipment that make it pos- Sible to develop turbines and power units which meet present-day requirements for efficiency, reliability, and Maneuverability are proposed.
