Revision surgery in paediatric surgery is, thankfully, a relatively rare event and few of us get the opportunity to build up extensive personal expertise. When it is necessary, therefore, it can be a major challenge of planningrnand technical skill. Help may now be at hand with this publicationrnwhich essentially allows the reader to use the experience of others when faced with such a clinical situation. It is certainly not a 'light read', it is clearly aimed at the specialist rather than the trainee and should therefore be considered a reference work that can be accessed when appropriate.
