President's visits: Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle

We were hosted by Bill Meadowcroft, Chairman of CPGCE (Canadian Prairies Croup of Chartered Engineers). At breakfast meeting with IStructE members and prospective members, we emphasised the considerable changes at IStructE since the previous visit to Calgary in 2002 and had lively discussions about current IStructE activities. We were particularly pleased to meet Mrs Zeng Qin (Emily Zeng) (M) who had recently moved to Calgary from China, where she gained Institution Membership in 2000 via supplementary tests in accordance with the IStructE and NABER(S) agreement. Mrs Zeng is now seeking registration in Alberta as PEng using her MIStructE qualification.
