Styrofoam™ insulation from Dow Building Solutions has been used for a new, Carbon Neutral Business Zone (CaNeBuZo) under construction near Spalding in Lincolnshire. Dr Jeremy Harrall, from SEArch Architects, is using his CaNeBuZo development - the first in the UK - to prove that commercially viable buildings can be created using today's technology to meet the aspirations of Level 6 of the UK's Code for Sustainable Homes.rnStyrofoam-A boards, 300mm thick, are being used to provide insulation for the roof, floor and walls of a series of earth-sheltered office buildings - as well as for a residential 'autonomous house' on site - to maximise thermal insulation and minimise the need for heating.
