New President, Dr Graham Owens, took over from Dr Sarah Buck on 8 January. He launched the rebrand of the Institution during his President's address, following a day long Council meeting. Outlining his vision for the future, he said: 'We have a sense of community which is not matched by any other institution. We all share a remarkable passion for our applied science'.rnAt the start of the Institution's second century, he said that the gold standard of the CM examinations gave the Institution 'a unique position in the world', and was seen as the greatest benefit of membership. He wanted to see the volume, breadth and depth of technical information increased, aiming for 'at least 10 world class publications each year' which should be spread between 'honing existing competencies and developing new, high value roles for us in the built environment'. It should include material for clients and the wider public.
