Official government statistics just released show that apprenticeship starts in Construction, Planning and the Built Environment, held up at 25 560 in 2010/11 despite tough economic times. Skills Minister John Hayes said: 'Construction, Planning and the Built Environment have still been able to deliver 25 560 new places. This is great news for local people who want to build a career in this vital industry, and will help firms forge the skills base they need to secure a prosperous future.'
