Masonry arch analysis software updated

LimitState has released the latest version of its masonry arch analysis software, LimitStatefiING 3.0. The software has been employed by major consulting engineering companies, universities and bridge owners around the world. It is designed to provides engineers with levels of flexibility and power normally found in finite element packages, yet is reportedly simpler and more intuitive to use than most conventional arch assessment tools. The rigid block method used in the software provides a high degree of flexibility, allowing automatic analysis of multi-span and multi-ring arches, and permitting local properties such as localised areas of weak masonry and/or mortar loss to be set. The method is described in CIRIA document C656 and by combining an intuitive user interface with a powerful analysis engine, it enables realistic ultimate load factor or settlement analysis solutions to be obtained quickly and easily.
