West Coast 'Pendolinos' take shape in Italy

The first production vehicles of Virgin West Coast's 'Pendolino' tilting train fleet have now entered the full construction stage. On April 17, Virgin Trains flew a party of British railway journalists out to Central Europe to inspect examples of Class 390s under construction at the Italian works of Fiat Ferroviaria and to experience Fiat tilting train travel at its most extreme -on the Gotthard spirals in the Swiss Alps.
