BACK IN TRAFFIC: THE C.I.K. FIELD COLLECTION

There's good news this month for collectors and publishers of high-quality railway photographs from the 1950s and 60s-the C.I.K. Field Collection has returned to the market. More than a quarter of a century after withdrawing his 2,000 or so prints from sale, proprietor Clive Field has decided to test the water and see if there is still a healthy public demand for top-drawer monochrome photographs of the early BR era. His collection comprises steam and modern traction images spanning the 1930s to the present day and includes many of the lesser-known classes and buildings as well as the more glamorous subjects.
