The Severn Valley Railway ran its first revenue-earning passenger trains from Bridgnorth for eight months on February 9, writes David Wilcock. GWR Prairie tank No. 4566 was chosen to work the first services, matched with a five-coach LMS set - the only passenger stock available after the numerous trackbed washouts and landslides that severed the line.
