NBR Atlantic tender chassis discovered

The last of the North British Railway's Class 'H' and 'I' Atlantic engines was cut up at the start of World War Two -but, incredibly, a tender chassis (thought to be from 1906 built No. 879 Abbotsford), has been discovered.rnThe tender frames and wheels have been in use for 60 years supporting a waste oil tank in Cambridge.rnThey have been moved to Moveright International Ltd's yard in Sutton Coldfield and the Bo'ness-based Scottish Railway Preservation Society has launched an appeal to take them back to Scotland (Abbotsford was built by the North British Locomotive Co in Glasgow, part of a class built between 1906 and 1921).
