'Whistler'started up again

The Class Forty Preservation Society's No. 40145 was started up on May 15, nearly three years after failing on a main line charter. The incident took place on September 4,2010, at Gonerby tunnel, near Grantham, while the loco was en route from Rawtenstall on the ELR to Cambridge. The failure was caused by a traction motor flashover. Following repair of the armature by Bowers Electricals, and connection of the generator to the power unit, the assembly was lifted back into No. 40145 on May 1 .
