Virgin wants Glasgow to London non-stop service

Virgin Trains has revealed plans for a scheduled non-stop train between London Euston and Glasgow Central - the first such service since the 1930s. Speaking to Scottish businessmen at a breakfast briefing, VT chief operating officer Chris Gibb said the project would necessitate increasing the line speed on the West Coast Main Line to 135mph north of the border. Other sections of the WCML have been improved, with better line speeds.
