There are over 10,000 books listed on Amazon as having relevance to climate change. You could say that it is the 'new black' and in many cases there is only the darkest doom and gloom that is portrayed and foretold. These two contributions have a solid and useful role to play in any considerations. The authors are both academics: Helm is an Oxford economist with a long and distinguished pedigree in environmental and energy economics, while Pirani is an historian specialising in Soviet and Russian studies and only latterly involved in energy at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.
