Strategic Marine delivers Ashmore Reef 'on-station vessel'

Built at Strategic Marine's shipbuilding facility in Vung Tau, Vietnam and completed in March this year Thaiyak was accepted into service in Fremantle, Western Australia, by representatives of Australian Customs & Border Protection Service (ACBPS) on 23 June. The 40m on-station vessel is designed for what the ACBPS describes as "flexible self-sufficiency" and long-term deployment at Ashmore Reef, an external territory of Australia 450nm east from Darwin, in the Indian Ocean.
