Cummins Marine's range of high speed marine diesels continues to prove popular worldwide; among typical projects using the company's engines is a batch of tugs, for Sealink of Sarawak, currently in build at its own shipyard. The three 38 metre anchor handling tugs, with a waterline length of 36.3 metres and 11.8 metre beam, are being built to a design by Khiam Chuan Marine of Singapore.rnPowered by a pair of V-16 Cummins QSK60 main engines rated at 2200 hp at 1800 rpm continuous duty, the tugs will have a 60 ton bollard pull and 12 knot operating speed. The first vessel to be delivered will have Reintjes WAF872 gears with a 7.455:1rnratio. The second with have Twin Disc MGN1727VC gears with 7.5:1 ratios.
