Siemens D-E for Tidewater PSVs

The Motorship has learned that the diesel-electric propulsion systems for the two platform supply vessels in build at Fincantieri's Bay Shipbuilding in the USA will be supplied by the US subsidiary of Siemens. The two deepwater PSVs will be outfitted with Siemens Blue multi-drive low-voltage propulsion systems, claimed to improve reliability due to fail-safe features that will help the vessel owner lower maintenance costs, and increase efficiency and operational ease for the vessel and crew.
