ABB opens Aisa remote services centre

Automation specialist ABB is opening a new integrated operations centre in Singapore, the third facility of its type, which will allow the company's engineers to follow the sun across the globe. The centre is a realisation of ABB's principle of the internet of things, services and people. Sensors and software on board a ship send data via satellite link which allows ship owners to monitor the performance of whole fleets. At the centre, ABB can analyse this data and work with the ship's on board and shore-side team to plan maintenance and troubleshoot.
