It is a great privilege to be President of the ILE during the celebrations for its 75th anniversary. Our current emphasis on partnership and collaboration between the Institution and other bodies is reflected in the variety of engineers, academics, scientists and other professionals represented at the 75th anniversary dinner at the Savoy on February 12. They included the ACPO, APLG, ASLEC, ATCM, CIBSE, CIEH, CSS, The Engineering Council, FOLA, HEMSA, IALD, IHT, LCMA, LIF, the Lightmongers Company, LPAC and TAG - support that emphasises the wide variety of collaborative ventures the ILE is involved in. It is by looking forward and working in partnership with other bodies that will ensure that the Institution will go from strength to strength over the next century.
