Liquid metal testing facility could boost fast reactors

Manchester University is Vthe UK partner in a three-year joint US/UK project to develop a liquid metal testing facility that will help investigate the behaviour of liquid lead as a coolant for nuclear fast reactors. Liquid metal cooled reactors have been investigated for marine propulsion, but not for power generation, and have not been produced commercially.
