Riverstone Holdings Buys Babcock & Browns N.A Wind Group

Privately held equity firm Riverstone Holdings LLC announced Thursday it has acquired Babcock & Brown's North American wind energy group and its wind development pipeline to form a new group called Pattern Energy Group LP. The price of the acquisition was not disclosed.rnPattern Energy will retain the Babcock & Brown energy development team, which has developed, financed and placed in operation 2,000 megawatts ofrnwind power across 11 states. The new group also will maintain the current Babcock & Brown development pipeline, which exceeds 4,000 MW of wind power in the 11 states and four countries.
