London trials a dust suppresser

Transport for London is testing a substance that sticks pollutant particles to road surfaces. The mayor of London's transport body is testing a chemical sprayed on the capital's roads in an effort to improve air quality. The dust suppressant could help the capital meet limits on coarse particulate (PM_(10)) concentrations that enter force next summer. Failing to do so could mean fines from the European Court of Justice (ENDS Report 414, pp 28-32).
