Post-Brexit green watchdog 'must have long-term funding'

The environmental watchdog tasked with holding the government to account once the UK leaves the EU needs "permanent and predictable" funding, Lords scrutinising the issue have been told. Speaking at an evidence session of the Lords Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006 committee on 28 November, Martin Nesbitt, head of climate and governance at the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), said secure funding was essential for the credibility of the organisation.
