Consumer Privacy Litigation and Enforcement Actions

This Article is the fifth in a series of Survey Articles summarizing recent court decisions, consent decrees, and other resolutions of enforcement actions and private litigation addressing consumer privacy issues. The first part of this Article addresses cases relating directly to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (the "GLB Act") and the financial services industry. The second part of this Article discusses recent court cases and enforcement actions related to privacy and data security in economic sectors other than the financial services industry. The third part of this Article discusses cases brought under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
