A leaked email circulating around the RIBA last week announced that chief executive Harry Rich was looking to chop £665,000 from the salary budget. Based on average salary, around 17 full-time posts will have to be axed, he says. Consultation will begin within the next few weeks, the note goes on to explain. However, despite this crystal-clear missive, the official line on job losses remains that until the institute's draft of their business plan for 2011 is formalised, 'exact figures for any redundancies would be speculative'.
