The Architecture Foundation's (AF) latest competition is to design a temporary landmark on the border of the City of London and east London. The structure will be located on the site of the historic Aldgate, removed in 1761 (see illustration above, circa 1600). Entries are due by 28 May. A shortlist will be announced in June, with each team awarded a ￡1,000 honorarium.
