In last week's AJ, Rory Olcayto repeated the factoid that it is necessary to demolish and rebuild the chimneys of Battersea Power Station. This proposition originated from the previous owners Parkview in 2004, and was accepted by English Heritage. However a team of engineers commissioned in 2005 by the Twentieth Century Society and others found no evidence that the chimneys were structurally unsound.
