London MP for Tottenham David Lammy, who is tipped to become a candidate for Mayor of London, hit out at the capital's penchant for tall buildings at a debate on the future of housing last week. Speaking as part of a London Festival of Architecture event alongside Claire Bennie of progressive housing association Peabody, Lammy asked whether high-rise tower blocks were really necessary in the metropolis.
