During May 2014 BTS Fabrications were contacted by LSC Facades about the rainscreen system for the RAL 100 Space Technology Centre in Harwell, Oxford. RAL Space is part of the STFC (Science and Technology Facilities Council) and is at the forefront of UK space research. The new building will be home to the UK's largest and most sophisticated space design, production and research facilities, and is an extension to the existing laboratory. The brief for architects Fairhursts Design Group was that the design was to be influenced by the theme of outer space in both its colour scheme and the materials used.
