The £3 billion Chelsea Barracks redevelopment is on the move again. The scheme's original architect, Richard Rogers, was famously thrown off the overhaul of the redundant barracks site in 2009 following a headline-grabbing intervention by Prince Charles. Qatari Diar's development company, Project Blue subsequently turned to Dixon Jones and Kim Wilkie Associates to draw up a new masterplan, and in May last year Squire & Partners won detailed planning for the first of six residential-led phases proposed for the Westminster plot - a 74-home 'ultra luxury' scheme. Now Make, Eric Parry, David Adjaye and Liftschutz Davison Sandilands are understood to be battling it out for phase two of the scheme. Meanwhile it is believed Allies and Morrison, Farshid Moussavi Architecture and Caruso St John have been shortlisted for another element of the site. Exact details remain sketchy, but results are expected soon. Watch this space.
